Motorcycling Australia Board announces new appointments

Motorcycling Australia has announced three new appointments to the organisation’s Board of Directors, as well as the elevation of Roy Chamberlain to President.

The new directors, Lisa Potter, Gavin Quinney and Anthony Reed, all bring wide-ranging executive, senior leadership and consultancy experience onto the Board, with a focus on skills such as business strategy, financial management, policy, risk management, sponsorship procurement, board governance and government liaison.

The trio joins Roy Chamberlain, Brett Redman, Alana Baratto and Sarah Jane-Dunford on the seven-member Motorcycling Australia Board, with Chamberlain elected as the new President to replace Peter Goddard who has stepped aside after a 10-year Board tenure – which included the Presidency from 2017 until 2024.

Motorcycling Australia thanked Goddard as well as the other outgoing Board members – Simon Bailey and Ross Allen – for their invaluable service to the organisation.

ROY CHAMBERLAIN (PRESIDENT)
Chamberlain is a business operations executive with extensive experience in strategy development and change management. He has a lifetime passion for competition and participation in motorcycle sports including motocross, superbike, off-road and, more recently, adventure touring.

GAVIN QUINNEY
Quinney is currently the Managing Director APAC and Board Member of OE Elsafe, a global electronics and software company. He is also the owner of DMK Designs, a dirt bike graphics company.

He has an extensive background in serving on motocross committees in New Zealand and Australia and as a chairman of a board in New Zealand. He also has an extensive background working for multinational and fortune five hundred companies in Executive and Leadership roles.

Quinney and his family are mad about anything with two or four wheels, and he continues to try and master the art of anything with two wheels after completing a successful sporting life at a representative level in New Zealand.

LISA POTTER
Potter is the Business Operations Manager for MacDonnells Law, a Brisbane- and Cairns-based commercial law firm.

She has worked in senior leadership, management and financial roles as a director, CEO, CFO, executive manager and consultant for over 30 years. These have included 12 years in various non-profit businesses (sports, environment, community services, employment services) and the balance in the real estate sector and other commercial businesses.

She holds an MBA and is skilled in strategic planning, financial management, policy, quality systems, risk management, board governance and ICT strategy.

A self-confessed motorcycling tragic, she has ridden a variety of sports bikes for many years, covering thousands of kilometres of the best roads in Australia and a couple of the race circuits. She added adventure bikes to the mix in 2019, riding tracks all over Western Australia, remote Northern Territory and Queensland. You will find her out on a bike or in the garage on most weekends.

ANTHONY REED
Reed is a business, events, sales and marketing professional working across a number of industries including banking, renewable energy, manufacturing and now with a focus on sports. Specialising in sponsorship procurement and marketing strategies, Reed has worked closely with governments and corporate both in Australia and internationally. With a passion for all sports and a particular love of motorcycling, Reed’s skill set closely aligns with the mission of Motorcycling Australia.
