Moonlight Cinemas celebrate 25 years of outdoor cinema

Moonlight Cinemas are celebrating 25 years of outdoor cinema returning to inner-city outdoor spaces and parklands in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide from November 2020 to April 2021.

In celebrating its 25th anniversary this season, Moonlight Cinemas will showcase a mix of new blockbusters, cult classics and family favourites on its screens.

Moonlight Cinema Marketing and Communications Manager, Nicola Whiteside advised “Australians love movies and cannot wait to experience the world’s greatest content on the biggest screen under the stars. There has been an explosion of audiences to drive-in cinema both locally and internationally over the last four months and we can’t wait to make the most of the warmer nights to stage cinema in a safe outdoor environment, where social distancing is all part of the experience! Moonlight is all about celebrating the outdoors with your loved ones, which is exactly what Aussies will be craving this summer.”

While being a BYO event, Moonlight Cinema will also offer an onsite licensed bar, hot food and movie snacks. With flexible seating, open air locations and a rigorous cleaning structure, Moonlight offers a COVID- safe social event for consumers and brands alike.

This season, Moonlight Cinemas will roll out a range of initiatives at each site in line with local health guidelines and recommendations including venue capacity. The enhanced guest experience will evolve to include COVID-safety marshals, social distancing measures, increased hygiene facilities and contactless payment to offer peace of mind for all Moonlight guests.

Social distancing measures have been put in place across all Moonlight venues including queue controls and capacity limits. All guests are required to maintain the adequate distance from other guests outside their group. Safety marshals will be onsite at each screening to ensure social distancing guidelines are being met. Moonlight has increased site hygiene facilities. There will be hand-sanitising stations throughout venues and enhanced cleaning measures of high-frequency touchpoints.

Moonlight Cinemas will be offering exclusive onsite activations and premium lounging options.
