Model Transitional Provisions added to the AER Award 2010

The Australian Amusement, Leisure and Recreation Association (AALARA) have advised that the Australian Industrial Relations Commission (AIRC) have this week inserted the model transitional provisions into the Amusement, Events and Recreation Award 2010, in Schedule A of the award.
AALARA advise that industry operators with any questions in relation to this award, the Travelling Show Award 2010 or another award that applies to their business should contact the AALARA office.
Meanwhile, the final Fitness Industry Award 2010 pay rates have also been released under the Award Modernisation process.
The Fitness Industry Award 2010 contains transitional provisions which allow pay related wages and conditions to be phased in over five annual instalments commencing on 1st July 2010.
According to Fitness Australia "the effect of the transitional provisions is that the new pay rates in the modern award will not commence until the first pay period on or after 1st July 2010.
"From this date, the transitional provisions will apply to phase in the new wage rates. The transitional arrangements will be based on the difference between the modern award pay rate and the relevant pre-reform award pay rate."
