Metricon extends venue naming rights partnership with Gold Coast SUNS

Australia’s largest home-builder, Metricon Homes, has announced the extension of its naming rights deal with the Gold Coast SUNS home ground for a further four years.

The long-standing partnership has been in place since the SUNS entered the competition in 2011 and will now see Metricon Stadium naming rights remain until the end of 2022.

The new deal will also see Metricon focus on enhancing matchday experiences for GC SUNS Members and fans with the inclusion of a new double story activation site to be known as ‘The Terrace’.

The Terrace will be utilised as an entertainment outlet for Metricon clients and contractors as well as providing a beautiful home for members and fans attending the stadium.

Announcing the partnership exentions ahead of the club’s first home game of the 2019 AFL Toyota Premiership Season, SUNS Chief Executive Mark Evans advised "in the week leading into our first home game of the season, it’s exciting to be able to announce an extension to an eight-year partnership between the SUNS and Metricon Homes.

“Metricon Homes have supported us since the club’s inception and are committed to not only helping the Gold Coast SUNS grow, but AFL in Queensland.

“Metricon Stadium has become synonymous throughout the Gold Coast as a fantastic community asset, and throughout the country as an industry leading sporting precinct."

The renewal continues the alignment of Metricon’s sponsorship commitments with the recreational activities its customers passionately support and cements the Gold Coast’s importance to the broader AFL landscape.

Metricon’s Gold Coast-based Director, Jason Biasin added "sport, and AFL, in particular, transcends so many cultures and communities.

“Metricon is proud to have been side-by-side with the SUNS since 2011, forging a grass-roots partnership that promotes the community and family connections synonymous with both of our brands."

Metricon will join major support partner, Austworld and the recent addition of Coaches Partner, @realty.
