Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre hosts 2023 World Championship Trials
Olympic champions, world record holders and stars on the rise are among the 500 swimmers converging on Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC), attempting to book their ticket to Fukuoka, Japan.
The World Championship Trials are being held from 13th to 18th June with next month’s World Aquatic World Swimming Championships being one of the last major international events held prior to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The men’s field includes world record-holder Zac Stubblety-Cook, Kyle Chalmers, Mack Horton and Cody Simpson, while standout female swimmers include Emma McKeon, Ariarne Titmus, Mollie O’Callaghan, Bronte Campbell and Shayna Jack.
Interim Swimming Australia Chief EXecutive Steve Newman notes “this is the start of a big 12 months starting with the World Championships next month and culminating in the Paris 2024 Olympics.
“We know from the World Short Course Championships in December that thousands and thousands of fans will converge on MSAC.”
The 2023 World Championship Trials is supported by the Victorian Government through Visit Victoria.
