Mass Participation World conference returns as an online event

Still impacted by the pandemic, the sixth Mass Participation World Conference will be staged as an online event next week.

Free to delegates, the event will run from Monday 6th until Friday 10th December, with a format of short, high impact, two-hour daily sessions replicated for all time zones.

With the mass participation event sector having been severely affected by lockdowns, the conference organisers see that “there are huge opportunities to learn from other sectors of sport and industry” and have focused on inviting most of the conference speakers from outside of the mass participation industry.

Under the theme Making Mass Participation Matter - Conversations to help build your community, partnerships and future, it has attracted speakers with global and regional roles from organisations such as the NBA, GoDaddy, ASICS, Willis Towers Watson and Disney Eurosport.

Conversations on big-picture topics ranging from a futurist view of a post-COVID world to getting the narrative right, keys to adaptability, building communities, revenue opportunities and the role of Governments will make up the strategic sessions on days one and two.

The njuko Innovation Spotlight will take place on day three and on days four and five delegates will be able to select from a range of two-hour deep-dive workshops including creating the prefect sponsorship pitch, partnering with governments and cities, sustainability, diversity, data and content.

Organisers advise that “recognising the challenges of the pandemic for the industry we are delighted to offer free registration for anyone joining live.

“Replays will be accessible for a fee after the event on the recently launched MPW Academy platform.”
