Management Group Australia Expands

The Management Group Australia (MGA) is experiencing what it describes as "an exciting expansion phase" in the Melbourne CBD, the cityâs inner suburbs and the popular tourist region of the Yarra Valley, with negotiations on four major projects underway.
Motivated by an inherent service culture, the founding members of the hospitality management company have made the most of what they see as an increasing service gap in the accommodation and leisure industry, as it became increasingly corporatised by the big corporate players.
The directors and business managers of MGA have vast experience and demonstrated success in a wide range of leisure and hospitality businesses including: resorts, hotels and motels, restaurants and function centres throughout Australia.
Formed just five years ago, MGA is now building a portfolio of accommodation properties in regional Victoria, the CBD, the inner suburbs of Melbourne and other areas of Victoria including the popular Silverwater Resort at Phillip Island, as well as resorts in Falls Creek.
MGA has plans to expand further following recent approaches by local and interstate operators. There will be a larger focus on interstate expansion in 2011.
As MGA Executive Director Andrew Mackey explains âwe intend to be recognised as the leading operator of independent CBD and regional accommodation sites in eastern Australia.
âWhile large accommodation companies can create certain economies of scale, through first-hand experience we have learned that they are not always effective in creating unique guest experiences and preserving the personality of individual properties whilst maximising owner returns.
âIn conjunction with the on-site managers we seek to preserve the heart and soul of the hotels and resorts we manage. This is one of the key differences between MGA and many of the large accommodation companies. To them, these hotels tend to become just another cog in the wheel of a large corporation.?
MGA works hand-in-hand with hotel and resort owners offering the entire spectrum of business including due diligence to acquisition, through to day-to-day management plus refurbishment to capital works, and is responsible for the overall performance of every clientâs venue â in other words, the buck stops with MGA.
MGA offers flexible agreements and its products are tailored to suit individual requirements and budgets.
A great strength of the MGA business model is that senior company representatives are onsite regularly in every property under management and this ensures MGA understands the business, understand the customers and understand where the greatest opportunities lie.
Andrew Mackey adds âwe maintain a constant focus on building capability in the on-site managers and ensure that each of them assume absolute responsibility for their respective business.
âWhilet they are supported, coached and managed by MGAâs business managers, we empower each of them to operate with autonomy and confidence, treating the business as if it were their own.
âThe Management Group Australia is a service drive company focussed on perpetually improving the performance of every asset we manage.
âWe strive to consistently exceed the expectations of our clients and to achieve sustainable and ethical growth of our clientâs business and the people involved in them.?
