Man falls to his death at Auckland high ropes course

New Zealand Police say a 57-year-old man fell to his death on a rope course at Tree Adventures in Woodhill, Auckland.

The victim is understood to have fallen while he was while attending a team building fun day.

It is not known whether he was wearing safety harnesses at the time of the fall.

The Tree Adventures' Park offers a variety of confidence courses up to 14 metres in height.

Its website says a safety system keeps climbers connected at all times. However, witnesses told 3 News safety was lacking before the incident.

Several investigations are now under way and police are preparing a report for the coroner.

Health and Safety officials attended the scene and are working closely with Tree Adventures to investigate how the accident happened.
