Magic Memories shows technological edge at Wet'n'Wild Sydney
Queenstown-based photographic solutions company, Magic Memories, is celebrating its most technologically advanced photography solution to date, with the launch of its fully integrated Guest ID experience at Wet'n'Wild Sydney.
Asked to create the most technically advanced photographic system in the world by Wet'n'Wild Sydney operators Village Roadshow Theme Parks (VRTP), Magic Memories has developed a fully integrated Guest ID solution throughout the waterpark. The system blends state of the art Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and online services with more traditional ride photography and roaming photographers to create an unparalleled end-to-end solution.
A huge step forward for VRTP, the system allows guests to access their photographs through online accounts all season. VRTP has been so impressed by the first season performance of the system that they have included it free to VIP season pass holders as part of their ticket price for season two.
Magic Memories Chief Executive for the Asia Pacific region, Steve Taitoko explains “the decision by Village Roadshow to include our photo pass in their VIP ticket price is acknowledgement of how valuable photos are to guests. It also validated the power of our system’s ability to integrate into the guest experience.
“This is a significant technological achievement given our challenge was to not only capture guest images utilising only RFID, but also work this in with VRTP’s ticketing and point of sale systems. All this, whilst building an automated web interface to deliver guest photos to a personalised account on VRTP’s website.”
VRTP project Director Chris Warhust, who has been responsible for the water park’s design and build, adds “we wanted to develop the most advanced water park in the world. Our brief to Magic Memories was simple – build us a solution that takes the guest experience to the next level.
“They achieved this on day one and continue to innovate with us to make the system even more extensive in its reach and functionality to guests.”
Magic Memories has a long history with VRTP, having worked with them at their theme parks on the Gold Coast.
Looking forward to future projects with VRTP and other clients, Taitoko adds “the ability to both develop cutting-edge technology and utilise the strength of our staff to provide a completely outsourced solution is why we remain at the cutting-edge of our industry.
“We do the heavy lifting for our clients so they can concentrate on their core business.”
The popularity of Wet’n’Wild Sydney since its 2014/15 season reopening has seen it add six operating days in November.
