Luna Park Sydney reveals updated outdoor venue

Sydney’s Luna Park Venues has unveiled a new look for its outdoor venue, Lavender Green, in advance of the summer months.

Lavender Green, located at the northern end of the park, is a large 780 metre² outdoor lawn space situated on the Sydney Harbour foreshore overlooking Lavender Bay, offering sweeping harbour views.

The multi-purpose venue and can be used to host a wide range of activities and functions including outdoor BBQ style parties, family days, lunches or outdoor cocktail events. The updated venue space now has the capacity to cater for 1000-guest cocktail events, while the capacity of the marquee is 600 guests standing and 250-300 for a seated buffet.

Luna Park General Manager sales James Granter said the updated venue is a welcome addition to the park, stating “Lavender Green provides an unparalleled experience unlike no other, for guests to enjoy harbourside views at an iconic location.

“This updated venue is a vital addition for us as it allows for more guest to truly enjoy the views and appreciate where they are.”

Luna Park Sydney’s 13 venues can cater to events for up 8000 guests and the venues team can also organise additional options to suit any occasion including marquee stands, picnic tables, umbrellas, BBQ and catering equipment, as well as a range of food and beverage packages.

The updated venue coincides with the completion of the $1 million refurbishment of the harbourside boardwalk connecting the Luna Park ferry wharf to Lavender Bay.

Luna Park worked with the Luna Park Reserve Trust to deliver the refurbishments and not only create a walk with the most sought after views of Sydney Harbour, but to also maintain its position as a key tourism and community entertainment destination, and a prestigious events and venues host.

Commenting on the project, Luna Park Managing Director Peter Hearne stated “upgrades to the boardwalk are part of a $20 million four year plan to redevelop Luna Park into an amusement park that offers world-class rides, venues and facilities, further cementing our position as one of Sydney’s favourite entertainment, business and tourism attractions.”
