Local craft brewery takes on naming rights for Manly's Brookvale Oval
Brookvale Oval, the home ground of NRL side Manly Sea Eagles, has a new title, with locally-based craft brewer 4 Pines taking on the naming rights.
Rebranded as of this week as 4 Pines Park, the new naming rights deals deal replaces the historic ground’s first ever naming sponsorship with Gibraltar-based online lottery operator Lottoland.
Confirmed by the Sea Eagles this morning, the new branding follows the green Lottoland signage having replaced by black 4 Pines signage during the week, and the venue name updated on the NRL Draw on Thursday.
The newly branded 4 Pines Park hosts the opening game of round 14, between the Sea Eagles and North Queensland Cowboys on Friday night.
The new naming-rights sponsorship is part of a four-year deal, building on the existing relationship.
4 Pines Brewing became the official beer of the Manly Sea Eagles in early 2019, with the beer available at the ground as part of the three-year deal.
Established in 2008, 4 Pines Brewing Company is a craft brewery and hospitality business based on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, just 850 metres from the ground.
Announcing the deal, Sea Eagles Chief Executive, Stephen Humphreys stated “it’s a winning partnership of two iconic Northern Beaches brands.
“We thoroughly enjoy working with the 4 Pines team and together, we will now take this great partnership to the next level.”
The Lottoland branding had been an unpopular move with the company widely seen as avoiding tax liability and their role as betting agents who play no part in the lottery draws they are selling being widely questioned.
Brookvale Oval is currently undergoing a $33 million upgrade including the construction of a 3,000-seat grandstand and Sea Eagles Centre of Excellence at the northern end. Construction commended in October last year and is expected to be completed in time for the 2022 NRL season.
