Live Nation set to launch new country music festival
Backed by the team behind the Spilt Milk festival, a new country music festival, Strummingbird has announced its debut tour dates for spring 2025.
Set to tour Queensland, NSW and Western Australia, the new festival, presented by Kicks Entertainment and Live Nation, will commence on Saturday 25th October on the Sunshine Coast, before heading to Newcastle on Saturday 1st November, and wrapping up in Perth on Sunday 2nd November.
Aiming to present classic country music roots with a modern edge, beyond the music fans can expect a full country music festival atmosphere, complete with line dancing, barbequed food, bespoke merchandise, a honky-tonk-inspired pop-up alley and a mechanical bull.
Created by the team behind Spilt Milk, one of Australia’s most successful festivals, Strummingbird looks set to tap into a growing appetite for country music.
It follows Connect by Live Nation's release of its ‘Step into Country’ study, which found Australia had become the third largest country music market in the world behind the US and Canada.
The study also revealed that from 2019 to 2024, Live Nation recorded a 756% increase in live music tickets sold for country music.
Strummingbird’s full artist line-up will be announced on 31st July.
Pre-sale tickets will then be available from 7th August while general tickets will go on sale the following day.
