Les Mills Asia Pacific announces fitness awards finalists
Les Mills Asia Pacific have nominated their shortlist of finalists for the Australian Club, Group Fitness Manager and Group Fitness Instructor Of The Year awards, with presentations to be made at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre on Sunday 6th April in conjunction with FILEX and the Australian Fitness & Health Expo.
The awards set out to identify the Top 12 Instructors, Top Nine Group Fitness Managers and Top Five Clubs as identified by the public, with the shortlisted finalists below.
Les Mills Asia Pacific Group Fitness Instructor of the Year finalists are:
• Rebecca Sayle (Splashdown, Leisure Link, Geelong's Gym, Fenix Fitness),
• Danielle Tippett (GRITSHED),
• Jasmin Carr (Goodlife, Genesis, Viva Fitness),
• Jessica Kimpiharju (Goodlife),
• Kerrie Mewett (Kerrie Fitness),
• Nelly El-Nachar (Ripples),
• Penny Palman (Derrimut 24/7),
• Roman Skrabak (Fitness First),
• Shar Campbell Smith (Monash University),
• Tiana Kiloni (Go Health),
• Wanda Lacey (Fitness First) and
• Andrew Bassett (Fitness Focus).
Les Mills Asia Pacific Group Fitness Manager of the Year finalists are:
• Jess Karlsson (YMCA),
• Karen McDonald (Genesis),
• Carly Greagory (Goldfields Oasis),
• Tanya Tien (Fitness First),
• Lainey Da Silva (Brunswick Baths),
• Kacie Newlands (Healthworks),
• Patrick Graham (The Lodge Fitness Centre),
• Frank Lennard (GESAC) and
• Michelle Ralph (Snap Fitness).
Les Mills Asia Pacific Club of the Year finalists are:
• Genesis Fitness (Parramatta, NSW),
• The Fitness Academy (Launceston, Tasmania),
• YMCA Central Australia (Alice Springs, Northern Territory),
• Goldfields Oasis (Kalgoorlie, Western Australia) and
• FIT HQ (Campbelltown, NSW).
Commenting on the Award shortlist, Les Mills Asia Pacific Chief Executive David Lewis stated "the awards came about as a way to recognise the amazing contribution clubs, GFMs and Instructors do day in, day out to ensure we all have the opportunity to lead healthier lives.
"We were blown away by the number of nominations for the awards and we wish we could personally identify and thank them all. They are the nuts and bolts of our business and we really appreciate their continued commitment and dedication to Group Fitness and Les Mills. The awards are a small way we can recognize these individuals and groups of individuals who often go unrecognised."
Nominees came from fitness consumers and were shortlisted by Les Mills Asia Pacific, before being voted on by the public in a process that closed on Friday 28th March and winners will be announced at
