Leejam Sports secures Fast Company Middle East’s most innovative company award in beauty and wellness category

Leejam Sports Company, one of the largest operator of sports and fitness centres in the Middle East and owner of the Fitness Time brand, has achieved top position in the Beauty and Wellness category at the Fast Company Middle East’s Most Innovative Companies awards.

Announced at Fast Company Middle East’s recent 2023 awards at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre, the award was received by the Head of Communications at Leejam Sports, Maha Al Nashwan, in the presence of a host of company leaders.

Among the huge number of nominees across various categories, Leejam Sports Company was able to stand out in the Health and Beauty category in recognition of its efforts in positioning sports as a lifestyle and promoting the sports and health industry to become more attractive and sustainable through various initiatives and its Fitness Time brand spread across the Kingdom and the UAE.

Welcoming the acknowledgement, Al Nashwan stated “this award represents a major motivation to us, boosting our competitive edge in the sports and health industry, which is an emerging market by all means, besides recognising our efforts in the Kingdom’s health and fitness sector.

“We reaffirm our total commitment to empower and enhance the concept of healthy and active living in the Kingdom, making it more sustainable and creating a society that is fully aware of the significance of sport for health in support of the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 that aim to establish an ambitious society and upgrade the quality of life for citizens and expatriates.”

The Fast Company Middle East Most Innovative Companies awards honours large companies and startups alike that boost innovation and work towards transforming and elevating society.

Assessed individually by the magazine’s editors and reporters, companies can apply across 33 categories spanning various domains with the requirement of describing the impact of their innovations on their business, products, and culture in general.

Leejam Sports Company achieved record-breaking profits in the 2023 financial year which coincided with a jump in membership numbers and the launch of new health and fitness centers in the Kingdom and UAE.

Leejam had earlier struck a partnership with Burjeel Holdings, a leading private healthcare services provider in the MENA region, to launch the first PhysioTherabia centre, a first-of-its-kind network of the most advanced and holistic physiotherapy and rehabilitation centres in the region. PhysioTherabia centres that opened recently at Riyadh’s Olaya View Fitness Time, Al Munsiyah Men’s Gym, and Al Munsiyah Ladies Gym, are considered the first among a group of 60 advanced centres for physiotherapy and rehabilitation which will be established within and beyond Leejam’s Fitness Time gyms across the Kingdom, with plans afoot to launch 16 centres.

Leejam Sports Company is the only publicly traded fitness company in the Middle East and North Africa region.
