Learner pool reopens at Freyberg Community Pool

Palmerston North City Council has reopened the learner pool at the Freyberg Community Pool.

The popular learners pool had been closed for repairs and has since been grouted, retiled and resealed.

Facility managers Community Leisure Management (CLM) began refilling the pool at the end of last week and then get it heated to the required temperature.

Advising of the reopening, Palmerston North City Council Leisure Assets Officer Glen Finlayson advised “we appreciate the patience of the pool users and CLM.

“Safety is of paramount importance and we want to ensure all things are working as they were designed, we apologise for any inconvenience the temporary closure may have caused.”.

All other facilities at the Freyberg Community Pool are operating as usual.

Freyberg Community Pool Manager Nathan Larnach added “we’d like to thank the public for their patience during this maintenance period. Our popular pre-school swimming and water safety classes will now transfer back to the learners pool.

“The learners pool gets a lot of use from both the local and wider community, so we’re really excited for it to be up and running again."
