Club Lime gym opens and pool hoist installed at Casuarina Aquatic and Leisure Centre

By Karen Sweaney

City of Darwin has announced that a Club Lime gym has taken up residency at the Casuarina Aquatic and Leisure Centre along with the installation of a new Pelican Pool Hoist.

Club Lime gym will provide 24/7 facilities within the centre for people looking to stay fit and active.

Viva Leisure Senior General Manager, Ross Sutherland enthused "Viva Leisure is incredibly proud and excited to bring Club Lime to the Casuarina community.

"As part of the new modern Aquatic and Leisure Centre we intend to immerse ourselves into the community and support our members on their fitness journey.

"Club Lime is a national brand with four other locations already operating in Darwin, so we feel this complements our NT offering nicely.

"We would like to thank City of Darwin for allowing us to be part of a hub for the local community and we very much look forward to meeting new people from the local area.

"The club itself will have state of the art equipment and cater to all people whether they are a newcomer to the gym or an experienced gym goer.’

Darwin Lord Mayor Kon Vatskalis said he was excited to welcome the new gym to the facility and shared "the Casuarina Aquatic and Leisure Centre has been incredibly well received by the community since it opened, and we are thrilled to provide another health and wellness option for the community to enjoy.

"The new Club Lime gym is perfect for people looking to stay active and will be open 24/7 so that you can fit a workout in at a time that suits.

"The gym provides a convenient option for parents or carers whose children might be taking part in one of our Learn to Swim programs, or who are simply enjoying one of the three sparkling pools on offer.”

Club Lime complements a range of options for people to stay fit and active within the centre, including a dry play area, plenty of grassed open play and recreation space and a 3 x 3 basketball court.

The Casuarina Aquatic and Leisure Centre was jointly funded by City of Darwin who contributed $19.3 million and the Federal Government who contributed $7.5 million.

Casuarina Aquatic and Leisure Centre has also announced the arrival of a new Pelican Pool Hoist.

This state-of-the-art hoist is designed to make the pool even more accessible, ensuring that everyone in the community can enjoy the benefits of swimming and aquatic therapy. Whether at the Centre for a swim, rehabilitation, or just some fun in the water, Casuarina Aquatic and Leisure Centre is committed to making experience as inclusive as possible.

Designed and manufactured in Australia by Para Mobility, and tested in accordance with ASA 3581, the Pelican Pool Hoist allows a person with any disability to have access to both above and below ground spas, swimming pools and hydrotherapy pools - without any manual lifting.

It is suitable for use in public pools, leisure centres, private homes, nursing homes, hotels and schools.

The Pelican Pool & Spa Hoist can be mobile or fixed permanently at the edge of the pool or spa and is easily installed on the pool deck by a handyperson / tradesperson, or alternatively, our Pelican® Installation & Service can arrange installation for you.
