Leaking Adelaide Festival Centre roof forces concert relocation
International pianist Nikolai Demidenko's Monday night concert at the Adelaide Festival Centre was moved to a different theatre because of a leaky roof.
Demidenko was to play in the Space theatre on Monday night, but rain was leaking onto the stage, forcing a last-minute change of venue.
Adelaide Festival Centre Chief Executive and Artistic Director Douglas Gautier told the ABC that having to move an international performance made it evident why a refit of the 40-year-old building was overdue.
Gautier explained "it was not good, I mean you've got an international artist, you've got an audience and of course the ABC was broadcasting so clearly we needed to move pretty quickly."
