Leadership change at News Ticketing
Harley Evans has been named acting Chief Executive of News Ticketing, the ticketing business of News Limited, replacing Adam McArthur who has left the business to be involved in the establishment of a start-up in the ecommerce area.
News Ticketing comprises of moshtix and Foxtix.
Announcing Evans' appointment, News Digital Media Chief Operating Officer Stuart Spiteri stated "over the past two years Harley has been instrumental in establishing News Ticketing as major ticketing brand. He has demonstrated that he has the management skills and industry knowledge to continue the expansion of the business and I am confident he will continue to succeed in this new role.
"I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Adam for his outstanding contribution to establishing News Ticketing as a significant challenger brand in the Australian ticketing market. On behalf of News Digital Media and News Limited, I thank him for his contribution and wish him the very best for his next venture."
Evans added "I am very excited to be taking responsibility for News Ticketing, as the business continues its expansion and challenge over the dominant market players.
"Having worked closely with Adam for more than two years, I have benefited from his strong commercial acumen and innovative vision. I wish him all the best in his new business."
During his time at News Ticketing, McArthur managed the transition of the moshtix business from his role as founder into being the largest player in the general admission ticketing market.
McArthur also led the launch of Foxtix into the wider reserved seating, community, arts and sporting events segments has created a strong competitor and alternative to the incumbent ticketing players demonstrated by securing the ticketing rights to the Australian Grand Prix and Motorcycle Grand Prix,
Sydney Royal Easter Show, Womadelaide and a number of other venues and events.
Evans joined News in 2010 as Commercial Director of moshtix, with more than 15 years senior management experience in entertainment and ticketing in Australia and abroad including extended stints at Ticketek and Fulham Football Club.
Evans assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer in 2011.
