Laserforce team wins international laser tag tournament
A team from Brisbane-based laser gaming operator Laserforce have secured a convincing win at a highly competitive international laser tag tournament in New York.
The international laser tag tournament, held at Fun Warehouse in Camillus, New York, brought some of the world's best players to battle it out in a high stakes tournament of 'Five on Five Space Marines' (SM5).
SM5, a game for the most professional of laser tag players, sees two teams of five competitors (with players in the role of 'commander', 'heavy weapons', 'ammo carrier', 'scout' and 'medic' - each armed with specific attributes and abilities) setting out at a fast pace to eliminate the opposition.
Speaking of the event, Michael Brandt of the Fun Warehouse explains "we do awards for the top three teams, almost like a bragging rights thing. And then we do individual awards and also like an all-star team like thing."
Among competitors, Australia's Brent Howe is the number one player in the world.
When asked how he reached that level, Howe explains "play lots of games. I guess, yeah, a bit of practice and playing against people that are better than you so you see what they do that is better than what you do and learn from that."
Len Kelly, owner of Laserforce FEC in Brisbane and owner of laser tag system supply company Laserforce International, was proud to congratulate the winning team.
