Lancelin to host inaugural multi-sport event
Western Australia's picturesque coastal town of Lancelin is to host a major multi-sport event, the Lancelin Coastal Clash, this weekend.
WA Tourism Minister Kim Hames said the action-packed event featured seven different outdoor sports, ranging from cycling and running to ocean swimming and paddling.
Dr Hames stated "the Lancelin Coastal Clash enables participants to compete in individual races of their choice, or in all the races for those sporting enthusiasts who want the title of King and Queen of the Coast.
"The event will highlight Lancelin's many extraordinary landscapes, particularly its stunning beaches.
"In addition to the competition, the Lancelin Coastal Clash will feature a mid-event dinner and party on Saturday night, event expo and family entertainment, a kids triathlon and dash-for-cash events."
The inaugural event is supported by the Western Australian Government through Eventscorp.
Minister Hames said Eventscorp supported the development of regional events across the State as they attracted additional visitors, enhanced the vibrancy and raised the profile of regional areas, adding "I hope visitors to Lancelin will also have an opportunity to explore the extraordinary experiences the town offers such as fishing, boating, sand boarding, snorkelling and windsurfing."
The Lancelin Coastal Clash will be held on 26th and 27th March.
