Key appointments made at Melbourne's Etihad Stadium
Etihad Stadium has announced the appointment of two new key members to its senior management team.
Daniel Pote will commences as Director of Sales, Marketing and Communications on 6th October while Tim Browne joins the business as Manager, Legal and Company Secretary on 13th October.
Pote comes to Etihad Stadium with an impressive history of sales, marketing and strategic planning after careers with global FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) brands such as Mattel and Unilever.
Etihad Stadium Chief Executive Paul Sergeant says Pote will bring a balance of marketing expertise, sales leadership, and product development knowledge, combined with digital media, PR, communications and account management skills.
Sergeant states "his leadership will support the progress of Etihad Stadium with innovative initiatives such as the recently launched ‘Connected Stadium’ project.
"Daniel will also play a key role in the strengthening of the venue’s partnerships with a wide range of customers and clients, including the AFL and all our partner clubs and commercial stakeholders."
Over the past five years, Pote worked for Mattel as Senior Director, Sales, leading the organisation through numerous exciting initiatives. Earlier at Unilever, a key achievement was the Magnum ‘Seven Deadly Sins’ launch, which saw the product sell out within six weeks, growing market share by 50% in its opening three years.
Welcoming his appointment, Pote stated “becoming a part of such a high profile and vibrant landmark presents exciting challenges and fantastic opportunities and I’m really looking forward to the months’ ahead.”
New Manager, Legal and Company Secretary, Tim Browne, joined Tennis Australia as its Legal Counsel in 2010, where he was responsible for providing advice on sponsorship, event management, as well as broadcast and media rights.
His background enables him to bring strong commercial, corporate, property and infrastructure expertise to the venue.
Browne says he’s also excited about the opportunities and challenges ahead, explained "the announcement of cutting-edge communications’ innovations further enhances the Stadium’s reputation for delivering an exciting fan experience and I look forward to joining the company’s management team and contributing to these types of outcomes."
Sergeant said the Etihad Stadium executive and management team congratulated the pair on their appointments and wished them well over the coming months.
