Animals kept cool at The Australian Reptile Park

As 2018 comes to a close with high temperatures, The Australian Reptile Park is ensuring all of the animals stay cool and happy!

The keepers strive to keep the animals as cool as possible, whether it through leaving sprinklers on, making ice blocks out of their favourite frozen food or simply giving the animals a cool shower. The keepers spend hot days providing comfort for each individual animal to maintain their well-being.

It’s hard not to smile when you see how much Hugo loves being sprayed with the hose, the dangerous Cassowary fluffing its feathers in happiness, the Tawny frog mouths stretching their wings out for an extra splash of water, the dingos lighting up at the excitement of a freezing cold ice block (named a “bloodsickle” by the keepers) or Koda the Tasmanian Devil splashing around in his ice cold pond and the emus splashing around in the water – it’s as cute as it gets!

The Australian Reptile Park is a hands-on zoo located the natural bush setting of the Central Coast of NSW, only 60 minutes from Sydney or Newcastle. The park offers live entertaining shows, themed exhibits and interaction with many of the wildlife sanctuaries residents.
