Katherine Outback Experience among attractions to secure Northern Territory Brolga awards
The 35th Brolga Awards, held at the Alice Springs Convention Centre, saw 25 Northern Territory businesses recognised for their contribution to the Northern Territory tourism industry.
The 35th Brolga Awards celebrate individual contributions as well as the best tourism operators and products across the Territory.
For the fourth year running, Katherine Outback Experience was the winner of Best Tourist Attraction.
Char Restaurant and The Darwin Club took out the Chairman’s Choice for Tourism Excellence, as well as the Tourism Restaurants and Catering Services Award.
A pioneer in sustainable travel, Grant Hunt was named the winner of the Tourism Minister’s Perpetual Trophy, in recognition of his contribution to nature-based tourism.
Twenty of the Brolga winners will go on to represent the Northern Territory at the 2022 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards, to be held in Sydney early next year.
NT Chief Minister Natasha Fyles notes "Winning a Brolga Award is the industry’s highest accolade, and the award winners represent the best tourism products and services in the Territory.”
NT Minister for Tourism and Hospitality Nicole Manison added “The Territory’s tourism industry has a lot to celebrate, they were one of the hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic and through their commitment and resilience they have adapted and innovated.”
