Kardinia Park Trust names new Chief Executive
The Kardinia Park Stadium Trust, owner of Geelong’s GMHBA Stadium, has announced the appointment of Gerard Griffin as its new Chief Executive.
Set to take up his new role next month, Griffin join the Trust from the Melbourne Cricket Club, he where he has been responsible for all facets of event operations, catering and hospitality, security and terrorism management, sports precinct management and transportation, in addition to the development of the MCG Precinct Master Plan.
Announcing the appointment, Trust Chair, Michael Malouf stated “we believe Mr Griffin is an outstanding choice for the role as he brings a wealth of industry knowledge, experience and leadership in stadia and business management.
“With the Stage 5 Redevelopment of the Stadium just around the corner and the establishment of the Kardinia Park Master Plan, Mr Griffin’s success in overseeing major capital projects will be an invaluable asset to the Trust and the Stadium.
“Over the past two years, the Trust has cemented itself as an integral part of the Geelong community, bringing events to Geelong and establishing exciting initiatives that bring new audiences of all ages to the Stadium. We look forward to working with Mr Griffin to continue this momentum and further enhance Kardinia Park’s standing as Australia’s best regional Stadium.”
