Kardinia Park Stadium Trust looks for operator for GMHBA Stadium Cricket Hub
The Kardinia Park Stadium Trust has advised that it is looking for an operator for the Geelong Cricket Hub, a 5-lane indoor cricket hub being constructed as part of the fifth and final Part of the current redevelopment of the northern end of GMHBA Stadium, the cricket hub is positioned adjacent to the existing Geelong Cricket Club nets with entrance from a new landscaped plaza forming the gateway to the new grandstand.
The new facility has been designed to cater for both elite and community use and will feature:
• 5 lanes including a 20m run-up
• Retractable netting allowing for multi-use including other sporting use, functions and activations
• Ample cricket bag storage space and spectator seating
• Two changerooms with locker storage
• Reception and cafe area
• Office space
• Meeting room
• First aid room
• Operable external walls opening to the adjacent landscaped plaza.
Due for completion in mid-2023, the Centre will be leased to Cricket Victoria by Kardinia Park who in turn will look to appoint a suitably qualified operator and centre manager.
The Trust is now taking expressions of interest for a Cricket Hub Operator who will run the facility.
