Kakadu Tourism appoints Alain Codino as Business Development Manager

French-born and highly experienced hotel sales, marketing, and events specialist, Alain Codino, has been appointed to Kakadu Tourism as Business Development Manager.

Codino joins Kakadu Tourism from Mindil Beach Casino Resort in Darwin, where he worked for the past three years as Event Sales Executive.

Prior to that he worked at The Darwin Sailing Club, managing events and sales.

Codino came to Australia in 2016 and, after working at a Whitsunday resort, moved to Perth as a manager at The George. He then succumbed to the Top End’s charms and took up the position of Operations Manager at the renowned Char Restaurant in Darwin at the start of 2019.

In his new role as Business Development Manager for Kakadu Tourism, he will be responsible for marketing and selling a portfolio of hotels and tourism products including the Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel (pictured above), Cooinda Lodge, Yellow Water Campground, Yellow Water Cruises, Yellow  Water Fishing and Kakadu Adventure Tours.

Kakadu Tourism recently announced property enhancements at both the Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel and Cooinda Lodge along with a variety of new products for the forthcoming peak season including overnight Indigenous cultural experiences.

Codino will be working with the travel trade and NT tourism partners to boost international and domestic visitation to Kakadu National Park, one of Australia’s greatest natural and cultural assets, boasting spectacular landscapes and over 65,000 years of continuous Indigenous heritage.

Codino will be based in Kakadu Tourism’s Darwin Office.
