Jetts Fitness expanding into New Zealand
24/7 express fitness operator Jetts Fitness, has announced its expansion into New Zealand with the first club opening in Royal Oak, Auckland set to open on 26th June.
The group expects to open 25 clubs in the next 18 months, through a combination of direct entry and franchising with both New Zealand and Australian partners.
As Brendon Levenson, Managing Director of Jetts Fitness explains "our first step into international markets has been carefully planned to ensure the high quality execution is delivered with the same methods that has defined our Australian success."
The chain has had tremendous to date success since inception, opening 61 clubs and attracting over 50,000 Australian members, and anticipates New Zealand consumers will to take to the brand in much the same way Australians have embraced the no frills, low cost offer.
Claire Attard, General Manager of Operations, has led the New Zealand entry program for 12 months, and is confident the model will be accepted in the same manner as in the Australian market.
Attard adds "gym members in New Zealand have expressed their desire for a low cost, no contract offer in much the same way Australians have, and given the fragmentation of the New Zealand market we believe the strength of our model will be welcomed with open arms, delivering a sustainable fitness product that is in line with the expectations and needs of todayâs customers."
Outside of the inaugural club in Royal Oak, new clubs are also under build in the Auckland suburbs of Eden Terrace, New Lynn and Glenfield, and negotiations for further sites underway in Christchurch and Wellington.
Clubs in New Zealand will offer the same defining benefits as the Australian clubs including no contracts as standard, 24/7 access to state of the art facilities and automatic reciprocal rights to every club. Prices start at NZ$19.95 per fortnight for family memberships and NZ$23.95 per fortnight for individuals.
All New Zealand members will receive automatic reciprocal rights to all clubs in Australia.
