Input invited for draft Warden Head Lighthouse Master Plan

The Ulladulla Lighthouse Group supported by Shoalhaven City Council is inviting residents to have their say on the draft Warden Head Lighthouse Master Plan.

Situated approximately two kilometres from the centre of Ulladulla, Warden Head is an important site for Ulladulla and surrounds, both for its natural, coastal setting and the historic use of Warden Head Lighthouse.

The community-led plan for the Warden Head Lighthouse has involved several stakeholders including key partners, Crown Lands who own and manage the site.

The project aims to implement substantial community safety improvements at the site while building on the historical, cultural and natural character of the area to enhance the coastal space and see its future as a place for recreation and relaxation.

Shoalhaven City Council Mayor Amanda Findley is pleased with the progress achieved by the various stakeholders involved in the community-led project.

Mayor Findley notes “this draft Master Plan aims to build on the existing character of the lighthouse and improve the recreational experience for visitors to the site.

“Community input is important at this stage in the process and will provided to the Crown Lands department who are responsible for the ongoing management of this site and the delivery of improvements at this location.

“Once the Master Plan is adopted, a series of prioritised, actionable items will be finalised to upgrade the area.”

Locale Consulting have been engaged by the Ulladulla Lighthouse Group to lead the community consultation and development of the Master Plan.

Visit Council’s Get Involved page to view the Warden Head Lighthouse Master Plan Report and provide your feedback by Monday 15th March 2021.

Alternatively, a hard copy of the Draft Master Plan can be viewed at Ulladulla Library, located at 81B Princes Hwy, Ulladulla NSW 2539.
