Shoalhaven City Council calls for Sports Board nominations

Shoalhaven City Council is calling for nominations for four new Board members to represent the sporting community on the Shoalhaven Sports Board.

The Shoalhaven Sports Board advocates for the sporting community on policy, direction and strategic planning associated with Council’s objectives.

Four positions on the Board are currently available. Nominees with Indigenous sporting group or accessible sporting experience are encouraged to apply.

Mayor Amanda Findley encouraged sport-minded residents and representatives to apply.

Mayor Findley advises “Board members represent all sporting codes in the Shoalhaven and provide high level advice to Council on policy and planning issues, as well as making recommendations to Council where required.

“If you are passionate about sport in the Shoalhaven and are interested in contributing in a meaningful way, I encourage you to apply.”

Formal Board meetings are held quarterly, with informal Board meetings and special meetings to discuss specific matters held as required.

Nominations are open until Wednesday 24th March 2021.

The application form and Terms of Reference of the Board can be found on Council’s website.
