Increased security introduced for events at the Singapore National Stadium
Mindful of the vulnerability of major events to terrorist attacks, management at the Singapore Sports Hub is introducing additional security measures in advance of the upcoming International Champions Cup Singapore (ICC SG).
A statement from the Singapore Sports Hub explains “in view of the expected capacity crowd, enhanced entry screening measures similar to the National Day Parade 2016 will be implemented around the National Stadium for the upcoming International Champions Cup Singapore (ICC SG).
“To facilitate entry into the venue, patrons are recommended to check the gate numbers on their tickets before coming to the Singapore Sports Hub and proceed to the correct security check point."
The statement also advises fans to arrive at the Stadium at least one hour before kick-off and to avoid bringing bags for quicker clearance.
Earlier advice on entry explained “despite more security personnel deployed for recent events, it has been observed that up to 75% of patrons arrive in the last 30 minutes before an event starts which resulted in many patrons clearing the security screening only after the event has commenced.”
