Inaugural celebrity basketball tournament and skills clinic launches in Hobart and Melbourne
A new tournament of celebrity basketball players has been announced with the inaugural ‘All Star Down Under Basketball Event’, launching in Hobart and Melbourne in February with a phenomenal line-up of international basketball stars.
The event will also offer a skills clinic for aspiring young Australian players, who will have the opportunity to enhance their basketball skills.
Pacific Dreams Collective & 24 Calibre Presents today announced the event will be held in Hobart on 17th February thanks to the support of Swisherr Hoops and 18th February in Melbourne.
The event will offer an unforgettable experience for fans and basketball enthusiasts alike, bringing together some of the most iconic names in the history of basketball with a variety of activities taking place across the weekend including specialised clinics, player meet and greets, a 3-point contest, dunk show and a whole lot more!
The incredible line-up includes Isaiah Thomas - two-time NBA All-Star, known for his exceptional skills and performance on the court, Mario Chalmers - two-time NBA Champion, Chalmers brings a wealth of experience and a winning mentality to the event, Guy Dupuy - celebrating an impressive 16 years undefeated as an international dunker, AND1 tour star, NBA legend and PBA tour. Dupuy is set to awe the audience with his gravity-defying athleticism.
International street baller, Whit3 Iverson joins the tour with a reputation for electrifying the crowds, ballislife star crash the court, Iverson's style and flair will be on full display, as well as Liptek - international dunker from Poland is a world dunk champion FIBA, whose high-flying dunks have earned him recognition on the global stage.
Joining the event in Hobart and Melbourne is renowned NBA skills trainer, Ronald Taylor who will be hosting a skills clinic to impart his knowledge and expertise to aspiring young Australian players, who will have the opportunity to enhance their basketball skills.
In addition to the clinic will be an elite Dunk Show and 3-Point Contest with breath-taking dunks and leave shooters in a battle of precision. This is set to be a crowd favourite as the supreme athletes go head-to-head.
A live Q&A session will also be on offer where guests can get up close and personal with the basketball legends as they share insights into their careers, experiences, and the game they love before finishing off with a Celebrity All-Star Game in Melbourne.
