IMG launches new ticketing company
Claiming that it will "revolutionise the industry", the IMG Sports Technology Group has announced the launch of its new ticketing company, TicketDesq.
IMG Australia's Senior Vice President, Brian Cooney, believes TicketDesq's arrival into the market is exactly what the sports and entertainment industry has been waiting for, stating "TicketDesq is a full service ticketing company that's robust and flexible enough to put venues and promoters back in control of their event, something the industry has been demanding for years."
IMG's years of experience in the event industry meant that TicketDesq was able to be designed from a promoter's perspective, with Cooney adding "unlike other ticketing systems out there, TicketDesq was created by an end-user for an end-user.
"Whether it be a major sports event or a local play, venues and promoters can control their customer database, branding and choose their sales channels, which helps control ticket fees ï¾ something they've not had much say about until now.
"The choice to be able to scale up or down TicketDesq's services will also significantly improve the ticket buying experience for customers.
"Ticketdesq.com utilises the latest web technology to integrate the ticketing system into our clients' websites, so customers can seamlessly go from researching an event to purchasing tickets - all in the one site."
IMG Sport Technology Group claim that the system is so robust, it will launch several other event management services from the same web platform.
As Clooney adds "our clients can not only sell tickets, but also sell merchandise and run auctions, as well as manage memberships, sporting competitions and events ï¾ all on the one web platform."
TicketDesq benefits also extend to giving clients their ticketing revenue in real time. Up until now, many promoters have had to wait weeks after the event before ticketing companies were able to reconcile and pass the revenue over.
IMG is no stranger to the event industry having operated in sports and entertainment around the world for nearly 50 years.
Five years ago, IMG created a division called IMG Sports Technology Group in response to client demand for more dynamic web-based event management services.
Essendon Football Club, the ANZ Trans-Tasman Netball Championship, Australian Grand Prix and ICC World Cricket have all recently signed up to use IMG STG systems.
