ICC Sydney team thrilled to secure five wins at MEA NSW Awards

International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney), managed by ASM Global, secured five wins at the recently held Meetings and Events Australia (MEA) New South Wales Awards having been named a finalist in all five categories entered.

The MEA NSW Awards celebrate excellence and recognise industry leaders who consistently deliver exceptional experiences and drive innovation in event management.

The five awards won by ICC Sydney were for Audio Visual Services, Skilling Program of the Year, Virtual Event of the Year - highlighting the successful delivery of the Royal College of Pathologists Australasia’s Pathology Update 2021, Sales, Marketing or Business Development Person of the Year - Gabriella Alberici and the Operations Person of the Year - Jack Crozier.

The impressive accomplishment highlights ICC Sydney's commitment to delivering extraordinary experiences and cements its world class standing within the business events industry. It comes as the venue enjoys strong demand for international and local events in 2023 and beyond, delivered by an exceptional in-house team of professionals.

Geoff Donaghy, Chief Executive of ICC Sydney and Group Director - Convention Centres, ASM Global (APAC), praised the talented and dedicated people behind the wins and shared "being nominated and recognised as winners in all five categories at the NSW MEA Awards is an outstanding achievement for ICC Sydney, and testament to the dedication and innovation of our team, who deliver world class services every day - making it their mission to make a difference for the clients, stakeholders and community we serve.

"It is particularly special to see the skills and contributions of Jack Crozier and Gabriella Alberici recognised as amongst the best in the industry as judged by some of the most esteemed representatives of our industry. They are shining examples of how our team members are excelling in their respective fields and contributing to our venue and clients’ success."

Reflecting on her award for Sales, Marketing or Business Development Person of the Year, Gabriella Alberici enthused “I am beyond thrilled and humbled to have been selected for this wonderful award. Although it's terrific personal recognition, I also have my valued clients, suppliers and industry partners to thank for their support and the partnership we have developed over the years.”

Senior Audio Visual Technical Manager, Jack Crozier was delighted to be named as the Operations Person of the Year saying “I’m extremely proud of all that I have achieved with my team’s support in the last year - from enhancing and innovating our services to skilling up the next generation of audio visual professionals through our AV Graduate Program - to be recognised in this way is certainly a career highlight.”

Brian Nash, Director of Audio Visual Services at ICC Sydney, shared the excitement adding "winning the Audio Visual Services, Virtual Event of the Year and Operations Person of the Year, is an enormous achievement for the Audio Visual team at ICC Sydney. It recognises the passion and commitment of our team, who raise the bar to deliver exceptional event experiences every day.”

These accolades are testament to this approach, and a true embodiment of the venue’s core values of integrity, connected and creative - we couldn’t be prouder of the achievements.”

The winners were announced on 16th May 2023, at the MEA NSW Awards Gala Dinner. ICC Sydney is now in the running for the national MEA Awards in the same five categories, with the national awards gala to be held on 8th June 2023.
