Hussey and Nunis appointed to VenuesWest board

VenuesWest Chairman Graham Partridge has announced the appointment of two new Board members in Michael Hussey and Giles Nunis.

Explaining the appointments, Partridge stated "Mr Hussey is a well suited appointment due to his extensive knowledge of national and international sports venues, competition and expectations. His experience and profile will be particularly valuable to VenuesWest.

"Mr Hussey brings a wealth of knowledge of international venues and the operation and delivery of national and international sporting events."

"Mr Nunis was recommended as a result of his extensive commercial and broad based experience in leadership within Government. His strong ICT background will be an asset to the Board immediately, as VenuesWest commences implementation of a comprehensive ICT strategy across its portfolio this month."

Partridge acknowledged the huge contributions of Board members Pam Glossop who retires from the Board for six years of solid contribution and Darren Beazley who recently moved overseas after a three year stint to take up the role of Chief Executive of the USA Cricket Association.

Ken McAullay, Ronnie Hurst, Narelle Finch, Graham Goerke and Wayne Cox have all been reappointed to the Board.

The terms of Chairman Graham Partridge and Board Member Rowan MacLean continue until 30th June 2015.

Partridge added that the appointment of Hussey and Nunis would add a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience to an already strong Board and he looked forward to new perspectives and ideas being part of Board discussions as VenuesWest continues to grow and develop.

VenuesWest is Western Australia's provider of premier sports, recreation and entertainment venues and its growing portfolio includes the new and world class Perth Arena and the redeveloped state of the art nib Stadium.

These are in addition to Challenge Stadium, Arena Joondalup, WA Athletics Stadium, WA Basketball Centre, Midvale Speeddome, Perth Motorplex, Champion Lakes Regatta Centre and the WA Rugby Centre, with the State Netball Centre and the Western Australian Institute of Sports High Performance Service Centre set to begin construction shortly.
