Hunter Valley Conference and Events Centre previews new facilities
The Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley Conference and Events Centre has released artist impressions of its new facilities that are set to open in early 2015.
The Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley Conference and Events Centre will be the largest and most comprehensive conference and exhibition facility in the Hunter Valley, featuring 2,000 metre2 of pre-function, meeting and exhibition space.
An integral part of the Centre’s design are four 14 metre pylons recycled from the now demolished Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre which form part of the exterior of the venue.
Architect Michael Munro from Hosking Munro, says the pylons “provide a contrast to the strong horizontal lines of the building”, adding “given the picturesque setting, the central galleria links the existing exhibition space to the new function rooms which open out to the surrounding landscaped areas.”
Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley General Manager Robert Coates is looking forward to opening the new facilities, stating “with the opening so close, we’re really gearing up for what we know will be a thrilling launch, and a busy schedule of events.
“Our first function is booked for February 2015, and it will be full steam ahead from then on.”
Resort owners the Schwartz Family Company, who purchased the hotel in 2012, have invested $5.5 million in the expansion.
