Hume Indoor Cricket Centre opens at Greenvale Recreation Reserve

The new Hume Indoor Cricket Centre has opened in Melbourne’s north at Greenvale Recreation Reserve, backed by $1.5 million from the Victorian Government and with Hume City Council contributing $9.4 million towards the purpose-built facility.

The facility includes a new oval and pavilion.

With Australia’s recent Border–Gavaskar Trophy test win against India and the return of the Women’s Ashes to the hallowed turf of the MCG, cricket is front and centre in the hearts and minds of Victorians right now.

The indoor centre means year-round opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to develop their skills through community and competitive programs, tournaments and camps.

The venue will cater for the growing cricketing community in the local area by supporting players to take their batting, fielding and bowling skills to the next level.

Iwan Walters MP enthused “absolutely thrilled to open the amazing new Hume Indoor Cricket Centre at Greenvale Kangaroos Cricket Club tonight, alongside Minister Ros Spence MP, Hume City Council leaders past and present, Victorian Cricket and many excited members of our local cricketing community!

“This world-class facility, including a new oval and pavilion, has been funded and delivered through a great partnership between the Victorian Government and Hume - and it’s going to transform opportunities for cricketers across Greenvale and the north.”
