Hoyts marks 25th anniversary of 'Star Wars:The Phantom Menace'

Cinema chain HOYTS is marking the 25th anniversary of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace  with special screenings for fans across Australia and New Zealand.

HOYTS cinemas will show screenings of the original and prequel trilogies with a special standalone session of The Phantom Menace at all locations to celebrate its 25th anniversary.   

HOYTS General Manager of Customer Engagement Brad Eaton says fans of the franchise will be able to celebrate all weekend.

Eaton shared “May 4th isn't just a date, it's a celebration of a saga that unites generations with timeless tales of heroism and hope. We can’t wait to welcome guests to see it return to the big screen the way it deserves to be seen.  

“There’s no better way to light up May the 4th than by hosting back-to-back screenings of the original trilogy. But the festivities don’t end there. On Sunday May 5th, we will also be showing back-to-back sessions of the prequel trilogy – so make sure to saber the date.

 “As well as movie fans who remember seeing the original films back in the ‘70s and ‘80s, we’re excited for a new generation of Star Wars fans to see these classic films on the big screen for the first time.

“It doesn’t matter how many times you watch them at home, these classics take on a whole new dimension in our state-of-the-art cinemas with comfy reclining seats, Dolby surround sound and of course, your favourite candy bar snacks.  

“Each movie will be screening in individual sessions ticketed separately at $17 per ticket. We are also thrilled to announce that at the end of each session, there’ll be a sneak peek of Acolyte, the new series from the Star Wars franchise coming to Disney+ in June.”
