D-BOX enters Australian cinema market with Hoyts seat deal

Cinema chain HOYTS is to equip four auditoriums in Melbourne and Sydney with over 200 D-BOX motion seats.

With installations in more than 40 countries, D-BOX Technologies’ motion seats immerse audiences in the storyline by perfectly synchronising movement with the action on the screen.

Welcoming the expansion, D-BOX President and Chief Executive, Claude Mc Master stated “after 10 years in the movie business, we are so proud of signing an agreement like this one, especially with a prestigious client like HOYTS.

“This is our first time in Australia, so we’re thrilled to finally give moviegoers an opportunity to experience the latest blockbusters through the power of our immersive motion technology.”

One of Australia’s leading entertainment companies and the nation’s largest single-brand cinema operator, HOYTS has 52 sites in both Australia and New Zealand.

The high fidelity D-BOX seats will be rolled out to every auditorium at the Sydney and Melbourne sites. Installation is set to begin in the middle of this year.

HOYTS Group President and Chief Executive, Damian Keogh added “this new agreement will change the way people watch movies in the most comfortable D-BOX motion recliner seats.

“We’re very eager to introduce movie-goers to an incredibly immersive way to experience movies that already has legions of fans all over the globe.”

Based in Montreal, Canada, D-BOX Technologies prides itself on creating hyper-realistic, immersive entertainment experiences. Its motion seats can be found in movie theatres, video games, virtual reality applications, themed entertainment projects and professional simulation.
