Hiking season starts at Mt Hotham

Hiking season starts this weekend at Mt Hotham with their trails in optimum condition and free guided walks launched for January 2023.

Hikers can access diverse terrain from all areas in the Mt Hotham resort. Mt Hotham trails offer something for all fitness levels.

Mt Loch area: Access the Bogong High Plains and Falls Creek from the Loch trailhead or throw a right turn and explore historic huts on the Huts Walk, which brings you back into the Hotham Village via the Cobungra Ditch trail.

Alpine plains: Walk or ride the Brabralung Trail and explore the high alpine plains and bogs, which are an important part of Indigenous culture and history.

North East Victoria and South East NSW: The Australian Alps Walking Track (AAWT) runs through Mt Hotham, and follows the path of some of the Falls to Hotham Alpine Crossing. Sample the trail and if you’re really keen, you can start in Walhalla (Victoria) and walk the entire 650 kilometres to Namadgi National Park in the ACT.
