Hero Zone VR completes asset purchase of Spree Interactive free-roam system
Hero Zone VR, a global leader in location-based virtual reality (LBVR) entertainment, has completed an asset purchase of the Spree Interactive free-roam system following SPREE Interactive’s recent administration.
Operating in over 46 countries, Hero Zone is recognised for delivering highly engaging and scalable VR experiences and this purchase ensures continuity for SPREE’s kid-focused games while adding blockbuster titles like Terminator to serve every audience.
The purchase represents a rescue of the only free roamVR platform targeted at the under-10-year-old audience.
The majority of Spree locations are at trampoline parks, including a significant deployment at Urban Air Adventure Parks. By acquiring Spree, Hero Zone ensures that these venues and their guests continue to enjoy trusted immersive entertainment, while expanding the available library of games and bringing fresh new content to their customers. The acquisition also safeguards millions of dollars of investment already made by operators in Spree installations, ensuring their continued value.
The Spree acquisition will take Hero Zone’s network to over 500 venues globally, cementing them as the largest free-roam VR platform. By incorporating Spree’s library of mini-games, specifically designed for younger children and families, arcades and FECs will have more options for birthday parties, first-time VR users, and school group outings. With the upcoming global launch of Terminator: Uprising in Hero Zone, the platform now covers the full spectrum of audiences.
Aziza Jarnija, co-founder and Sales Director for Hero Zone VR notes “this acquisition allows us to serve every demographic in a way no other LBVR provider can. From young children to seasoned gamers, we now offer something for everyone, further cementing our position as the industry leader.”
For operators, the addition means new opportunities to attract family audiences and increase repeat visits, without the need for multiple vendors. Hero Zone’s platform now offers accessible, family-friendly VR alongside premium blockbuster IP, bringing all-ages VR entertainment under one roof.
