Gwinganna retreat wins three new international awards

The Gwinganna lifestyle and wellness retreat on the Gold Coast hinterland has secured three international awards over recent weeks.

The retreat, owned by former Fitness First Australia Managing Director Tony de Leede and business partners including actor Hugh Jackman, retained its status as Australia's Leading Spa Resort at the the World Travel Awards 2016, presented in Vietnam last weekend.

The resort was also just been named Oceania's Best Wellness Retreat and Australia's Best Wellness Retreat for the second consecutive year at the recent World Spa Awards 2016 in Italy.

De Leede spent $30 million buuying the land and developing Gwinganna prior to its opening in 2008.

He describes Gwinganna as “probably the biggest risk I have ever taken”, adding “it was a labour of love.”
