Goulburn named host of major Netball NSW event

Netball NSW announced a partnership with Goulburn Mulwaree Council last Friday (15th November) which will see the 2020 Biennial Conference and NSW Swifts v Giants pre-season match held at Goulburn’s Veolia Arena on Saturday 22nd February 2020.

Set to further Goulburn’s reputation as a sporting hub, the Conference – themed as “Our Sport, Our Way” – will focus on netball’s next development phase through leadership, building capacity, culture and a deeper understanding of the rise of female sport.

Keynote speakers will include Carol Fox (Chair -Women Sport Australia) and more soon to be announced panel members. The afternoon will include group workshops for administrators, umpires and coaches.

At the conclusion of the Conference, the NSW Swifts and Giants Netball squads will take to the court in a pre-season match ahead of the 2020 Suncorp Super Netball.

Goulburn Mulwaree Council’s Mayor, Bob Kirk, is excited to have an event of such calibre come to the region advising “Goulburn continues to prove itself as an ideal location for high level sporting events and conferences, which in turn provide a strong economic benefit to our region.

“It will be a wonderful opportunity for community members to watch the stars of Netball clash in a pre-season game when the NSW Swifts play the Giants at the Veolia Arena in February next year."

An early-bird ticket offer for the Conference including the pre-season match, is available now until 15th December 2019 via www.stickytickets.com.au.
