Gold’s Gym reveals aggressive growth plans for Australia
Gold's Gym has clarified the status of its Australian gyms, confirming that it has parted ways with former Australia master franchisee, Leigh Taylforth, and announcing "several key moves to continue its rapid expansion efforts" across the country.
The statement advises that "effective Thursday, July 14, the following gym locations will no longer be affiliated with the Gold's Gym brand: Fyshwick, Gunghalin, Tuggeranong, Bondi Beach, and Townsville."
The statement adds "in addition, the company formalised new direct deals with owners of the Miranda and Rockingham Gold's Gym locations, enabling them to continue to grow their operations."
Gold's Gym Senior Vice President for Franchising and International, Craig Sherwood (pictured below) stated "the Rockingham and Miranda gyms are run by excellent operators and we are excited to have them in our system."
The statement also reaffirms Gold's Gym plans to open 50 gyms during the next 10 years in Adelaide, Brisbane, Mackay, Sydney and Perth, adding "the company is dedicated to meeting the demands of the growing Australian fitness market and delivering the same high caliber of service that Gold's Gym is known for across the world."
Sherwood continued "we see tremendous opportunity in the Australian fitness market and are thrilled to strike new deals with our direct franchisees there.
"These deals will allow the Gold's Gym brand to continue to grow while we begin the search for a new master franchise partner."
