Gold's Gym announces takeover of former World Gym Yeerongpilly site

South east Queensland’s first big box gym is now a Gold’s Gym location following the transition of the former World Gym Brisbane site in Yeerongpilly to the Gold’s Gym stable.

With the new location featuring as part of the brand’s ongoing expansion as it aims to become a major player in the Australian fitness landscape, Glen Farrow, Chief Operating Officer of Gold’s Gym Australia, advised that partnering with the owners of the site cements Gold's Gym as an important emerging player in the Brisbane and national gym scene.

Farrow explained “Gold's Gym is a massive global fitness powerhouse with 700 plus locations worldwide so Yeerongpilly’s transformation into the Gold’s Gym family signals a huge shift for their members and the broader community.

“This is now our second major gym in Brisbane and the 11th gym in Australia. We are actively looking to explore more opportunities in both metropolitan and regional areas across the country.

“We have a well-loved and respected brand and the owners of the Yeerongpilly site also have ambitious growth plans. They are aiming to introduce more gyms across Brisbane over the next few years.”

Stating that Gold’s Gym Yeerongpilly is embracing an open-air concept reminiscent of the legendary Gold's Gym Venice Beach, Club Manager, Ruby Warren added “this move isn't just about changing banners, colours and signage, it's about amplifying what our community loves and to do that we’re embracing a grander, more powerful vision inspired by the spirit of Gold’s Gym in Venice Beach.

“The indoor/outdoor feel, along with the introduction of Muscle Park, is our way of bringing a strong slice of that iconic beach atmosphere to Brisbane.

“Gold's Gym represents a global legacy of strength and empowerment and we’re excited for our members to have a strong, big and bold brand to associate with.”
