Gold Coast Council looks for operators of Commercial Aquatic Recreational Activities

The City of Gold Coast is to issue an ‘Invitation to Offer’ for the Operation of Commercial Aquatic Recreational Activities on Council controlled sites.

Following the success of the AquaSplash venture on the Gold Coast Broadwater over recent years, it would appear that the Council is looking for new or additional operators to offer a range of commercial aquatic recreation activities at sites across its local government area..

The Invitation to Offer, which will be advertised as of this Saturday (26th November), is looking for “one or more suitably experienced, qualified and equipped contractor/s” to operate activities over three years.

10 sites have been identified across the city with type of activities to be considered including motorised operations (jet skis, paraflying, etc.) where not restricted, water parks – inflatable slides and other equipment, inflatable ‘water balls’, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, water related amusement equipment, traditional non-motorised activities such as canoeing and other water crafts, related activities (such as bicycle hire) that could complement an aquatic permit and other suitable activities subject to Trustee’s evaluation and approval.
