Global Wellness Summit moved from Qatar to USA over concerns about Middle East 'instability'
The organisers of the upcoming 2023 Global Wellness Summit - scheduled to be held in Qatar from 6th to 9th November - have advised that because of concerns over "instability in the Middle East region" the event will now be held in Miami, Florida, USA.
In a communication issued overnight, the organisers advise that the move to Miami is aimed at "ensuring the safety and continuity of the event", advising “in light of recent developments and the growing concerns surrounding instability in the Middle East region, and in full alignment with Msheireb Properties, our host sponsors in Qatar, the Global Wellness Summit has made the difficult but necessary decision to relocate this year's event to Miami, Florida.
“The safety and wellbeing of our delegates, speakers, team, and partners are of paramount importance, and this change in location ensures a secure experience for all participants. Our hearts go out to all of our friends and colleagues directly or indirectly impacted by the escalating conflict in the Middle East.”
The communication, which notes that the dates remain the same - 6th to 9th November - goes on to explain “delegates who have already registered for the Summit will receive a separate communication today (17th October, ed), shortly after this email, with detailed information on what we anticipate will be a smooth transition to the hotel in Miami."
Global Wellness Economy Monitor
At the Summit, the Global Wellness Institute will release the new Global Wellness Economy Monitor while organisers advise that “almost all of the keynote speakers that have already been announced are pivoting with us”.
Qatar is 2000km from Israel. Miami is 320km from Cuba.
