Glamping trial to begin in Victorian National Parks

The opening up of Victoria’s national parks to new visitor experiences will see the introduction of new glamping offerings as of late September 2018.

Set to be introduced by Parks Victoria in a trial at two Victorian National Parks - Mount Buffalo National Park and Lake Eildon National Park – the facilities will present a unique opportunity to go glamping in some of Victoria’s most stunning and remote locations.

The fusion of glamour and camping has been a hit worldwide, so Parks Victoria feels that trialling the experience in Victoria’s National Parks to connect more people with nature and the outdoors is an exciting opportunity for visitors.

Simon Talbot, Parks Victoria’s Chief Operating Officer explains “the vast majority of visitors to our parks have indicated they’d like more diverse and accessible park services. Offering different types of accommodation, such as glamping, helps enhance people’s experiences in our unique and magnificent parks.

"Parks Victoria aims to provide inspiring visitor experiences that connect more people with what is special about Victoria’s parks.”

The trial will be held at two locations with two accommodation providers:

Lake Catani, Mt Buffalo National Park
Offering more than 90 kilometres of walking tracks, waterfalls, beautiful wildflowers and abundant wildlife the glamping experience will feature 10 bell tents, lush linens and furnishings and the creature comforts of home, visitors can relax after a busy day of adventure and exploring.

Devil Cove, Lake Eildon National Park
Located at popular Devil Cove campground in Lake Eildon National Park, ‘Glamping with Nature’ by the award-winning Yea Peppercorn Hotel offers all the luxury trimmings of glamping as well as health and wellness experiences, kayaking, cooking classes and group fitness classes.
