Fremantle launches new campaign to attract lucrative business tourism market

The City of Fremantle is launching a new marketing campaign produced in partnership with Business Events Perth, to consolidate its position as a premium destination for business travel, conferences and events.

Through a virtual tour of Fremantle, the campaign highlights the numerous conference and event venues available in Fremantle, as well as accommodation, hospitality and entertainment options.

Fremantle Deputy Mayor Andrew Sullivan notes “Business tourism is an industry where clients are looking for something unique and memorable, and Fremantle certainly has a lot of fantastic places for people to meet, stay and play.

“But we’ve seen such a boom in the number of exciting hospitality venues and hotels in Fremantle over the past few years that some event organisers may not be fully aware of everything we have to offer.

“This new campaign will see the City working with Fremantle's hoteliers and venue owners to showcase their product suitable for meetings, incentives, conference and events through a virtual tour of Fremantle.

“The virtual tour will also include experiential highlights of the destination to encourage longer stays, increased pre and post touring and consideration of Fremantle as a complete full-service destination for conferences and events.

Sullivan added “the campaign materials will be provided to event organisers, business associations and travel agents to use as a tool to sell Fremantle as a conference destination directly to their clients.

“It will also be distributed through the City of Fremantle's destination marketing channels, Business Events Perth, Business Events Australia and all participating hotel and venue partners.”

Business Events Perth Chief Executive Officer Gareth Martin said attracting more business tourism to Fremantle would bring a huge economic benefit to the city.

Martin advised “Business Events Perth and the City of Fremantle have a long history of working together to attract national and even international business events to Fremantle, which bring thousands of delegates to the city supporting local businesses, restaurants, hotels and tourism operators.

“We were delighted to support the City of Fremantle on this wonderful project, which showcases the best of Fremantle and its readiness and capacity to host these events.

“The transformation underway in Fremantle, combined with the city’s unique food and arts scene and easy walkability, makes it a premium destination for business delegates looking to immerse themselves in Western Australia’s heritage and culture.”
