Free fitness outdoor bootcamps among Shoalhaven’s offerings during Parks Week 2024
Shoalhaven Council is offering an array of activities for residents to participate in during this year’s Parks Week being held from 2nd to 10th March.
Parks Week will see hundreds of organisations across Australian and New Zealand holding events to celebrate the vital role parks play in creating liveable cities and thriving communities.
In the Shoalhaven region, events will be held at the Boongaree Nature Play Park in Berry, White Sands Park in Huskisson and the Mollymook Beach Reserve. The events are being organised by Shoalhaven City Council through Shoalhaven Swim Sport Fitness.
Local Parks Week activities will include:
Free fitness outdoor bootcamps mixing calisthenics and body weight exercises with cardio and strength training. Held at White Sands Park, Huskisson, Saturday 2nd March and Saturday 9th March.
Paint ‘N Pour sessions for artists of all ages and all skills levels to unleash their inner creativity and craft a beautiful piece of art. Held at Boongaree Nature Play Park, Berry on Monday 4th March and Wednesday 6th March. Participants under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets $15 per participant.
Free yoga session based on the ancient practice of Vinyasa yoga and focusing on balance, strength, flexibility and power by flowing. Suitable for beginner and advanced yoga levels. Held at Mollymook Beach Reserve on Wednesday 6th March.
Shoalhaven Mayor Amanda Findley said the Shoalhaven was home to some of the most beautiful parks and reserves on the South Coast and added “I think most people would agree that spending time in our parks and open spaces has a very positive impact on our well-being.
“There’s no better time to get outside and enjoy what we have on offer right here in our own backyard.”
