Frankston City Council looks for a name for its new regional aquatic centre

Frankston City Council is inviting the public to have a say in the naming of its new $49 million regional aquatic centre, scheduled to open mid 2014.

Entrants can win a $500 gift voucher for providing the Council with a suitable name for the new multipurpose centre. Local schools are also being encouraged to participate in the competition for their chance to not only a $500 gift voucher but also an exclusive fun day that will see their school being invited to among the first to enjoy pools, waterslides and aquatic playgrounds before the Centre opens.

Entries can be submitted by clicking on the link below and must be submitted by 5pm on Sunday 30th June 2013.

If multiple entries are received for the same name, the winner of the gift voucher will be selected by ballot.

Designed by William Ross Architects designed project and project managed by Coffey Projects (supported by Coffey Sport and Leisure), the new centre aims to provide first class health, fitness and wellness services to the regional community, and offer entertainment and recreational opportunities for children and adults of all ages and abilities.

• Heated indoor Olympic-size 50 metre swimming pool, with movable boom
• Dedicated Learn to Swim pools, and children's pools with beach access
• Water playground area for children
• Two waterslides, including the world's-first Aq uasphere Family Raft Ride
• Warm water exercise pool, Spa, Sauna and Steam room
• State of the art gymnasium equipped with latest fitness technology
• Group Exercise, Mind/Body and Cycle Fitness Rooms
• Café with seating, Retail/Merchandise and Crèche (Occasional Care)
• Health and Wellness Centre
• Environmentally sustainable design
